Apply for New Ration Card in Maharashtra Online
To apply for a New Ration card Maharashtra, there is an online process, kindly follow the steps below. All important links and details are explained with the help of screenshots:
Step #1: Visit the Maharashtra Food Distribution portal. On the right hand side you will see a box with Online Services. Click the link Online RC Management system. And on the Top Right corner you will see Sign In/Register link. There you have to click on Public Log In.
Step #2: In the next page, you will see a window asking for Sign In for Registered Users or Sign Up for New Users.
Step #3: Click on New User Sign up Here, 2nd Button. A new form will open with 3 options to choose from in the form of Radio buttons as shown below. You have to select the 3rd option – I want to apply for new Ration Card. As soon as you select the 3rd option the following form will be displayed as shown in the screenshot below:
Step #4: Fill all the details, enter your Mobile number, login id, and create your password. Above the yellow strip for selecting options. There are important points to be noted, read that before filling the Ration Card Application form. Fill the captcha and click on Get OTP, and verify. Once you are verified you will have to login again to submit the new ration card Application online through this account that you just created.
Step #5: After log In, you have to search for Apply for New ration card Link. You will get Online form, where you have to fill all your details. It will also ask your identity proof and Address proof, provide the documents as needed. All the documents required for Ration card Application are given here.
Step #6: Submit your Application by paying the Application fee. Once you complete your Application process you will get an Application number to track your Application request. It will take around 30 days to get your name added to the Ration card list. As you know, the Ration card is already linked to the Aadhar and therefore it is not needed to link now.

Check Status of your Ration Card Application
As shown below, you can login to your account in the Maharashtra Food Portal’s RC management System from the following link:

This is only for Head of Family (HoF), the eldest female member of the family, and only HoF can be able to register to access the online services. Other members of the family can not register, but can only view the Ration card details.
Sign In using any of the following option, and in your Account section you will get to see ration Card option. Enter your Application Number, the status of your Application will be displayed.
If the application gets approved you can View your Ration Card with an option to download in PDF format.
Add Name to Ration card online
The members of the family can be added from the same account. This can be done by the head of the Family as applicant need to specify the Name and details of the Head of Family during Application. All family members must have Aadhaar linked with their mobile numbers. The Head of the family have to attach their Bank Passbook, House ownership documents, House Rent bill, Electric Bill, etc.
For Adding Name to the Ration card, you have to first login to the RC Management System. There in the Ration card section, you have to select Add Name or Family Member and there you have to fill all details of the family member/s. Provide their Aadhaar numbers and verify with OTP. In few days, the family member will be added to your Ration card.
You can physically also, apply for New Ration Card. In that case you have to download form for New ration card application through the NFSA Distribution portal for your state. Fill the form with all details and attach the copies of supporting documents. Also, you have to affix Rs. 2/- stamp on the Application. Submit your application in Ration card office.
