What are the Documents Required for Ration Card Aadhar Link process?

For Ration card Aadhar linking process, following documents are required:

Copies of Aadhaar of all family members
Passport size photograph of the Head of Family
Photocopy of the Ration card as well as Original Ration card for verification
Registered mobile number for OTP verification

1. Ration Card Aadhar Link – Online Process

Step #1: Visit your state’s Public Distribution Portal and find the Ration Card Tab. (Since there are many improvements and changes and updates going on throughout the year, the link of the portals and deadlines also changes, so its not possible to provide direct link.)

Step #2: There you have to enter your Ration card number, Aadhar number and Mobile number.

Step #3: You will get OTP, complete the verification process. You will get SMS update regarding the link request.

2. Ration Card Aadhar Link – Offline Process

Step #1: Visit the nearest Ration card office or Ration shop.

Step #2: Carry all the documents that are required as mentioned in the above section, including photographs of Head of Family, Aadhar copies of all family members, Bank passbook in case Bank account is not registered with Aadhaar.

Step #3: Submit all these documents along with the copy of your Ration card, carry original Ration card also with you.

Step #4: The officials at the Ration shop may ask for your fingerprint authentication at the time of Ration card Aadhar linking. Once the documents are successfully submitted you will get an acknowledgement message. You will get a confirmation message later once the Ration card is linked to Aadhaar.

3. Ration Card Aadhar Link – Through SMS, Process

You can link your Ration card Aadhaar card through SMS also. You have to send one SMS as explained below.

In the text box, type “UID SEED State Short Code> Scheme/Program Short Code> Scheme/Program ID> Aadhaar Number>”. For example, you can send a message like “UID SEED MH POSC 9876543 123478789012” to 51969.

Step #1: Visit the following link on the national Food safety Portal:

Step #2: Enter your Ration card number. Enter the captcha code for verification.

Step #3: Now click on Get RC Details. It will show your Ration card Aadhar link status.
